Based on up to date research, Mellow Parenting design programmes to address gaps in current service provision which help to address social and health inequalities. The programmes are piloted and evaluated thoroughly until the evidence suggests that they work effectively.
The underpinning values are based on the psychological theories of attachment, social learning and cognitive behavioural therapy and focus on improving parent-child relationships, for either male or female caregivers, from the antenatal period up to age five. Early intervention and attuned parenting in the early years has a long term effect in all areas of a child’s development
All Mellow Parenting Programmes are thoroughly evaluated before being made available to services. We have our own internal evaluation team that conducts our initial pilots and focus groups. We also have strong links with universities to evaluate our programmes independently for feasibility and cost effectiveness. We are then able to train those who are interested in our programme to deliver them in local services.
If you wish to commission a local training, whether in the UK or Internationally, please contact us for further information. We will guide you to commissioning the most appropriate training for your service, which will include support from our base through the delivery of your first groups, evaluation and accreditation.
We are a training organisation, but most of all Mellow Parenting is about Relationships:
