Statement Regarding Beacon CRM Cyber Security Incident
We are investigating a security incident affecting our network
Beacon is a customer relationship management (CRM) platform used by many charities and third?sector organisations, including Mellow Parenting. On Tuesday 4th August, Beacon informed us of a cyber security incident affecting data held by all organisations using their CRM system.
Mellow Parenting has been made aware of this incident and is actively seeking clarification from Beacon, who have confirmed that some organisations’ data may have been accessed unlawfully. At present, we have not been informed that Mellow Parenting’s data has been directly affected. However, we are treating this situation with the utmost seriousness and care. Mellow Parenting does not store any details about the families participating in our programmes nor do we hold any financial details on this system.
What Mellow Parenting Is Doing
- We are in active communication with Beacon Software to understand the nature and scope of the incident.
- We have requested clear information about whether any Mellow Parenting data was involved.
- We are reviewing our internal data protection processes to ensure they continue to meet the highest standards.
- We are consulting with, and receiving guidance from, our IT systems provider.
As a precaution, we encourage everyone to remain vigilant for unexpected emails, phone calls, or other communications requesting personal information. If you receive any communication claiming to be from Mellow Parenting that seems unusual or suspicious, please contact us directly before responding.
The trust placed in Mellow Parenting by our practitioners and partners is central to our work. We take data protection extremely seriously and we will continue to communicate openly as more information becomes available.
