Mellow Parenting takes seriously the protection of your privacy and confidentiality.  We understand all visitors to our website are entitled to know their personal data will not be used for any purpose unintended by them and will not accidentally fall into the hands of a third party.  We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of all information you provide to us.

Our Policy complies with the current Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA), and furthermore the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) implemented in the UK on the 25th May 2018.

We do not share, sell or disclose to a third party any information collected through our website.

Who we are:

Mellow Parenting is a Company ltd by Guarantee (No 349127) and Charitable Registration (SC037384).

We research, develop and implement parenting programmes for the more vulnerable families in society, with an international reach.

We deliver training in our programmes to individuals and staff groups throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the World.

How we collect information:

We collect information about you when you:

  • Complete the contact and/or booking form
  • Contact us by email or telephone
  • Make a donation
  • Register as a practitioner to access information
  • Access social networks

Information we collect:

The personal information we collect from you may include your name, address, email address, phone number, IP address and information about the pages you have accessed on our website and when.  If you make a donation or make a purchase your credit card information is NOT held or stored by us.  This information is collected by our third-party payment processor (Paypal) who specialise in the secure online payment processing of credit/debit cards transactions.   The payment processor will not share your personal data, except to provide the necessary payment services to us.

How we use your information:

We may use your personal information to:

  • Improve your browsing experience by personalising the website (please refer to our Cookie Policy for further information)
  • Enable your use of the website and its services
  • Create an account if you register with us
  • Keep a record of your relationship with us
  • Process a donation you have made
  • Process any purchase you may make
  • Carry out our contractual obligation
  • Notify you of any changes to our services
  • Contact you with information you have requested to receive i.e. events and fundraising activities
  • We may use legitimate interest to send you relevant information if we have a long term relationship with you

We will not disclose your data without your consent to third parties or where we are permitted or required to do so by GDPR.

If you do not want us to use your data for our use, you will have the opportunity to withhold your consent when you provide your details on the form on which we collect your data or you can do so by writing to us or email enquiries@mellowparenting.org at any time.

Security of your personal data:

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that its treated securely.  Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected by SSL.  When you are on such a secure page, a lock icon will appear on the bottom of web browsers such as Google Chrome.

Non-sensitive details (your email address etc) are transmitted normally over the internet and this can never be guaranteed to be fully secure.  As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk.   Once we receive your information we make our best efforts to ensure its security on our systems.   Where we have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our websites, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.  We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Your rights

You have the right to access information held about you by us.  Please write to us or contact us by email if you wish to request confirmation of what personal information we hold relating to you.  You can write to us at the address in the “who we are” section or by email enquiries@mellowparenting.org.

There is no charge for requesting that we provide you with details of the personal data that we hold.  We will provide this information within one month of you requesting the data.

You have the right to change the permissions that you have given us in relation to how we may use your data.  You also have the right to exercise “your right to be forgotten” and that we cease using your data or that we delete all personal data records that we hold relating to you.   You can exercise these rights at any time by writing to us at the address in the “who we are” section or by email enquiries@mellowparenting.org.
