Updates to Practitioner Certification and Accreditation

At Mellow, we are always looking for ways to strengthen the support we offer our Practitioners, and ensure families continue to receive the highest quality of care.

We’re pleased to share an exciting update to our Certification and Accreditation process, designed to better support Practitioners, keep skills fresh, and help our workforce stay connected with the latest in Mellow practice and up-to-date digital and physical resources.

What’s Changing and Why

Over the years, many Practitioners have trained with Mellow. This reflects the strength and longevity of our community, and we want to ensure that all Practitioners feel confident, supported and up-to-date in their delivery.

Our new process introduces a clearer, more supportive pathway to:

  • enhance quality assurance and ensure programmes are delivered consistently, safely, and in line with the Mellow model;
  • encourage ongoing professional development;
  • keep skills current and confident;
  • provide regular opportunities for reflection and growth;
  • strengthen connection with Mellow and other Practitioners.

This change helps us maintain the integrity of our programmes while continuing to support Practitioners in a way that is practical, relational, and focused on continuous improvement.

The New Practitioner Journey

1. Certificate of Completion (valid for 2 years)
After training, Practitioners will receive a Certificate of Completion. This is the official licence to deliver Mellow programmes. During these two years, Practitioners are encouraged to apply for Accreditation.

2. Accreditation
Once Accredited, Practitioners will receive a Certificate of Accreditation and gain access to exclusive benefits, resources, and ongoing support from Mellow.

3. Ongoing Renewal (every 2 years)
Accreditation will now be reviewed and renewed every two years, helping Practitioners stay up-to-date and supported in their practice.

What This Means for Current Practitioners

  • Practitioners trained before 1st April 2026
    You will have until 1st April 2028 to apply for Accreditation. After this date, Practitioner status will expire if Accreditation has not been achieved.
  • Practitioners trained after 1st April 2026
    You will automatically follow the new process, receiving a 2-year Certificate of Completion and applying for Accreditation within that period.
  • Practitioners already Accredited before 1st April 2026
    Your current Accreditation remains valid until its existing expiry date. After this, it will move to the new 2-year renewal cycle.

 

These changes are about investing in our Practitioners. By creating a more consistent and supportive framework, we aim to strengthen confidence in delivery, enhance the quality of support for families, and keep our community connected, skilled, and inspired
